KEYBOARDS
Tuomas started his music career playing KORG N364 synthesizer. Small, compact but has rather deep sound. N364 is musical instrument is only as good as its sounds; and them more the merrier. The N364s are absolutely brimming with 936 programs and combos based on 8MB of PCM ROM featuring 430 Multisounds and 215 drum sounds. And the N-Series sounds rely on Korg's renowned AI2 Synthesis System, the same system that's found in the 01/W and X-Series Music Workstations.

It’s very difficult to say when Tuomas bought his next synthesizer - KORG Trinity – optional and a very popular one. The Trinity provides a gigantic 24 Mbyte PCM ROM, which contains 375 different PCM multisamples and 258 drum samples, recorded at a high-quality 48 kHz sampling rate. It provides PCM sounds that were recorded by the best artists on the best instruments under ideal conditions. The multi-mode filter section provides high pass, low pass, band pass, and band reject filters, plus resonance, allowing highly flexible filtering. The effect section features up to 8 simultaneous insert effects and 2 master effects. In addition to basic effects such as high-quality reverb and delay, the insertion effects provide a total of 100 powerful effects. Plus, the sound can then be processed through two master effects, such as ambiance-type effects.

The next synth was KORG TRITON CLASSIC - still one of the most popular one nowadays. The TRITON series comes power-packed with Korg's new HI Synthesis System for the ultimate in sonic creation. Plus, with a full-featured integrated sampler, enhanced performance features, a full-function sequencer, and many optional expansion boards, TRITON will be the most powerful tool ever in your keyboard arsenal. TRITON even comes with six outputs so that you can meet the needs of any situation you come across, from live concerts to the recording studio. TRITON is truly the next-generation music workstation that every musician has been waiting for.

The next to last and one of the most powerful synthesizer was KORG KARMA MUSIC WORKSTATION. KARMA Variable Performance Modeler featured on the Karma Music Workstation is a completely unique function that lets you generate music in a whole new way. Based on the notes and chords that you play, KARMA will automatically generate and mold phrases and patterns. You can instantly create sophisticated phrases and musical changes that would have required lengthy arranging and step input if done manually.

AND THE LAST ONE AND THE MOST POWERFUL SYNTHESIZER IS KORG OASYS. Korg designed OASYS to provide a full set of audio production tools to the demanding musician, and to reflect the changing nature of today’s music making process. OASYS brings together the world’s most powerful synthesizer, studio quality effects processing, second-generation KARMA technology, advanced MIDI sequencing, 16-track audio HD recording with CD burning, plus a flexible MIDI control surface all into one elegant instrument.

Now about the stands Tuomas was using on his concerts. During 1998-2002 Tuomas used ULTIMATE keyboard stands. But since Once World Tour Tuomas played Konig&Mayer SPIDER.

Side Projects - For my Pain
For my Pain is a band project, which has been founded in Oulu. The project consists of members of the bands Nightwish, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Embraza and Reflexion. Actually the band has already been found in 1999, but not before 2001 they could publish their debut album "Fallen", because the members were busy with their own bands.
All of the six members agreed on leaving it as Gothic Metal Studio Project and so For my Pain won't perform.

Side Projects - Nattvindens Gråt
Nattvindens Gråt has been founded 1994 by members of the today known bands Darkwoods My Betrothed, Nightwish and Wizzard. While the 1995 demotape directs into Blackmetal, the following two albums tend to be Gothic or Doom Metal. The band split up in 1997, but still exists as Gothic Rock-/Metalband Nattvind in new structure.

Side Projects - Furthest Shore
The band exists since 1999 and consists of well-known musicians of the bands Darkwoods My Betrothed, Nightwish, Nattvindens Gråt and Wizzard. They say from themselves they go on where Bathory ended with "Twilight of the Gods" in 1991. They play epic, middle-aged gothic metal, which refuses to be put in any of these terms.
